ST. JOHNS EPISCOPAL CEMETERY

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA

EST. IN 1840 St. John's Episcopal Cemetery, one of two old and historically significant cemeteries in downtown Tallahassee (the other being the Old City Cemetery), is the site of Prince and Princess Murat's graves, with a relatively large stone monument erected to their memory. Prince Achille Murat was buried here upon his death in 1847, and, twenty years later in 1867, Princess Catherine died and was buried alongside her husband. The monument consists of two pillars, each inscribed with a brief epitaph of the decedent over which it rests.
